Mechanism of Action of Cariprazine: The mechanism of action of cariprazine in schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder is unknown. However the efficacy of cariprazine could be mediated through a combination of partial agonist activity at central dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors and antagonist activity at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. Contraindicated. Itraconazole Ketoconazole: will increase the level or effect of cariprazine by affecting hepatic/intestinal enzyme CYP3A4 metabolism.
