Talazoparib is used to treat certain types of breast cancer that has spread within the breast or to other areas of the body. Talazoparib is in a class of medications called poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors. It works by stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. Talazoparib is used to treat HER2-negative breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Talazoparib is used only if your cancer has a specific genetic marker (an abnormal "BRCA" gene). Your doctor will test you for this gene.
