About Docetaxel Antimicrotubular Natural Source (Plant) Derivative Taxane Derivative Antineoplastic. Mechanism of Action of Docetaxel This paclitaxel congener binds to beta tubuline and enhances the polymerization of tubuline to stable microtubules. It also interacts directly with microtubules and stabilizing them against depolymerization inhibits normal recognition of the microtubule network necessary for mitosis.
