Temsirolimus is an intravenous drug for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Temsirolimus is a specific inhibitor of mTOR and interferes with the synthesis of proteins that regulate proliferation growth and survival of tumor cells. The recommended dose of temsirolimus is 25 mg IV infused over 30�60 minutes once per week . Weekly treatment may continue until disease progression or until patients experience intolerable side effects.
