Mechanism of Action of Sulfinpyrazone Sulfinpyrazone competitively inhibits the tubular reabsorption of uric acid and increases the uric acid excretion. This will help in decrease the amount of uric acid in gouty patients. Indications for Sulfinpyrazone 1. Gouty arthritis Typical Dosage for Sulfinpyrazone Oral Adult: 100-200mg to be taken 2 times daily with meals. Dose can be gradually increased upto 800mg/day.
