About Cefepime Fourth Generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Mechanism of Action of Cefepime Cefepime is a 3rd generation cephalosporin which exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Cefepime inhibits transpeptidase & thus prevents cross linking of bacterial cell wall.
